Mechanical engineering comprises a range of activities including research and development, design and manufacturing, operations and maintenance, and marketing and sales. Anything that involves the design and/or manufacturing of mechanical, thermal, or electronic devices and/or processes falls in the realm of mechanical engineering. Jobs can be found in many sectors, including ground and air transportation, power generation and energy conversion, computer and information systems, and the entire spectrum of consumer products.
