Pennsylvania Institute of TechnologyPennsylvania Institute of Technology offers a range of technical and business programs to prepare students for careers in chosen fields or as a foundation for continuing education. PIT's priority is the creation and maintenance of an atmosphere conducive to the learning endeavor and the comprehensive development of the student. Since 1974, the Career Placement Office has placed 94% of available graduates in technical positions related to their education. Each degree presents a program designed to provide practical, hands-on courses for students who wish to begin their careers immediately following graduation. PIT constantly monitors these changes and modifies courses and curricula to meet the changing demands of business, industry, science and education.

AAS in Architectural/Civil Engineering Technology (ACT)Building design and construction requires a professional who understands the total project and its unique conditions. The ACT program will teach students the basic facets of this complex field. Students learn the field through courses in Architecture Design, Structural Design and Construction Technology. The curriculum also stresses Computer-Aided Design, materials and methods of construction and building codes. Mathematics, the physical and applied sciences, project management, and basic communication skills are fundamental elements in the program. Students will also receive specialized knowledge in architectural design, structural design or construction engineering. Graduates are qualified for career-entry positions in Architectural/Civil and Construction Engineering Technology, including architectural and structural designer or drafter, CAD operator, cost estimator, survey crew member and sales engineer. AAS in Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET)The MET curriculum equips students with a broad foundation
of knowledge in physics, mathematics, computer science and the engineering technologies of machine design, machine control systems, electro-mechanical design and fluid mechanics as applied to the science of mechanics. The MET program is a calculus-based curriculum for students who plan to begin their career after graduation or transfer to a four-year institution.
